Andy O’Reilly, from the Midlands, England started dancing at 9 years old for the Sean Eireann McMahon Academy in Bristol. He went on to become North American, All Ireland, All Scotland, Great Britain and British National Champion.
At 18, Andy’s professional career started alongside Michael Flatley in his arena tour of ‘Celtic Tiger’. He then went on to join ‘Riverdance’ in 2007 where he performed worldwide including a run in Radio City Music Hall, New York.
After being asked to join dance group ‘Prodijig’, Andy and the rest of the group competed against thousands of other dance acts on Sky’s ‘Got to Dance’. Prodijig went on to win the show in front of a live television audience of 1.4 million. Prodijig then went on to create the stage show ‘Footstorm’ which toured the UK and Ireland. Andy was both principle dancer and dance captain of this show.
Heartbeat Of Home was the next step for Andy. This brand new show from the producers of Riverdance, had its premiere world tour in 2013. Andy was dance captain of the production and went on to become principle dancer.
Andy has been part of many television performances including appearances on ‘The Price is Right’, ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘The Today Show’.
He is an avid choreographer, helping create pieces for numerous projects including ‘Dancing with the Stars’ ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, ‘Laochra’ and ‘Studio2Stage’. Andy co-created, directed and choreographed a new dance show called ‘Romeo & Juliet’. This went on tour China extensively in 2018
Having successfully completed his TCRG examination in 2008, Andy is delighted to be an integral part of the Trionoide Team in Raleigh and is excited to pass on his experience and expertise to the next generation of competitive and professional Irish Dancers.
